What independence? Just an illusion!

When I tried to wish a fellow Pakistani today, she snubbed me bitterly saying, "What Independence? Its your Illusion brother. There is no more and independent Pakistan".
As her cold words pierced through me, I went back in time to school days when we sang, "Pak Sar Zameen Shaad baad" every morning without understanding the meaning of the beautiful verses. Now that I do understand, my sar zameen is not shaad baad any more.....!!
What my friend said is true isn't it? Painful, bitter...but true....!
Nonethless I wish you all a happy 14th August. Lets pray and work for the peace, prosperity and solidarity of this country.

Same goes for you Babarzm! Pakistan did not come into existence with the kind of morale we live with today. The wars of 1948 and 1965 were not fought by cowards like us.
One point in time Pakistan is said to have provided consultancy to other nations who have surpassed us now.
Apathy, frustration and most of all negative emtions of the succeeding generations have overtaken us. I think there are still a few positive people who think, feel and work sleflessly for the country. Although their efforts are rarely acknowledged but I hope and pray that such souls are not discouraged by the treatment they get.

Independence is a feeling...... If someone does not have this feeling.... don't worry.
"Apathy, frustration and most of all negative emtions"......we all can root out these things. It's in our own hands.
Don' t fall a prey to these..............

I am the type who acknowledges the facts & move forwards towards improvements.
The independence that we had earlier was only an illusion of independence & not the real one. Ask people who have contradicted Zia's Marshall Law. Just because you were not told the horrific tales of Zia's brutalaties does not mean that they never happened.
Ranking Musharraf v. Zia, I would say Zia was 10 times more suppressive and cunning. We can also talk about Yayha's operation in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) & Bhutto-cum-Akbar Bukti brutal operation in Baluchistan.
Let me know of any of the above topics & I will be able to provide you greater detail along with personal accounts of people who faced these brutalities.
