Ok...I just logged in four days after my last blog entry...and wow, the comments! For everyone who's reading my stuff, thank you so much! It makes me feel all warm and tingly inside! :)

I'm gonna try to write as regularly as I possibly can. As for my nick, its something my younger sister and brother came up with a long long time ago...

I just finished reading Kamila Shamsie's "Kartography" again, and for some reason, I was reminded of time  I started writing here slightly more than a year ago. Though the activities of IJT remained controversial in institutes becasue of their political affiliations and their ideology of using force against social evils, but they flurished positive activities in institutes as well like Bookfairs, career seminars, welcome and fairwell parties to students and teachers, short courses, free medical camps and agitations against fees increaments.

A few days ago, a student at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) committed suicide following separation from the programme.

Kinnaird College for Women, one of the oldest, highly prestigious and most expensive institute at undergraduate level has announced an increase in students fees. The increase is upto 50% of the current fees structure, causing a lot of anxiety amongst the students and their parents. They have raised a protest against this intolerable increase.

LUMS is holding a Gravity Challenge on its campus today. The event is sponsored by Red Bull Pakistan and is going to be an exciting one.

Lums has issues the following press release in response to the arrest of two of its faculty members, as they were carrying out a peaceful protest against the recent emergency imposition.

With the increase in the number of educational institutes in the country, one would expect that the standard of education is probably improving. However, that is quite contrary to reality.
