Started Squash after a long long break !
submitted 7 months 10 days 16 hours ago by: amersarfraz : 6 commentsI treat blog as my daily journal (though i'm not a regular), so not much thought provoking writing here, just the daily boring (or not so boring) routine.
Today, after an approx. gap of 4 years, I have formally joined Shapes (health club) n have started playing Squash, thanks to a friend's persistence.
After 2 games today, my whole body is aching n I want to be numb. We're planning to shift to 6am session in the hope that it might be less crowdy & I may get into an early to rise routine.
I was just having a discussion with a friend and he was telling me that an early to bed n early to rise routine is the best model follow and that knowing me, he does not think I'll be able to adjust myself to this practice. Infact he thinks I should keep it for the after office hours in the evening, or I might end up quitting the game :)
Let's see if I am able to get this laziness out of my system.

I like the game in fact but never got chance to try myself! Someone was saying that playing Squash isn't easy in both (physical as well as financial) terms.
Can you please tell how much they (Shapes) are charging? I mean Registration, per month, etc. Since you had been playing the game in past, right? Can you please guide new commers to sports shops/stores with prices @ Lahore?
From where to purchase the racket and which brand? Would it be appropriate for new commers to purchase a nice costly racket? And things like that ;). I am sure I'll have the answers of asked as well as un-asked questions...
Is all this effort for the love of the game or for the package that comes along with the game...?

Amer Sarfraz i think you should start another buzz on downfall of Squash in Pakistan after Jansher Khan and Jahangir Khan and why ministry of sports is ignoring these issues.
