The government on Monday, the 1st of July, 2008 announced that the price of CNG has increased by Rs.13 per KG. As a result, all CNG stations in the country immediately raised the prices to accommodate the government decision. It was an exhorbitant price hike and a lot of hue n cry was made at the announcement. Now the interesting part.

Just read the news on The Nation that OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) on Saturday (last) night announced a major price increase in the petroleum products to be effective from 29th of June, 2008 (today that is).

With the continuos rise in fuel prices, the alternative fuel prices are also going up, as expected. Increase of 2 rupees per kg in LPG is just another example of how substitutes go directly hand in hand.

The government has once again increased the petrol and diesel prices by Rs.3 per litre. So effective May 1st (i.e. Today), you would be burning Rs.68.81 for every litre of petrol and Rs.44.59 for every litre of diesel that you put in your damn car. So be careful with your fuel tanks !

NEW UNIVERSAL SIGN FOR GASOLINE

An overnight increase in fuel prices here from $1.39/ litre to $1.53 for unleaded petrol has shocked most of us here……! Damn... my habit of procrastinating….didn’t get the gas tank filled last night :(
