WINNING HEARTS AND MINDS AIN’T IT

WINNING HEARTS AND MINDS AIN’T IT

The term “winning hearts and minds” is a simplistic and dangerous cliché reflecting a certain naiveté in American thinking that everyone yearns to be like us. In the struggle against those who would pervert Islam and use that despicable version of a great religion as a tool for terror, winning hearts and minds should not be our center of gravity.

Nawaz Sharif’s Ramblings: Political Leverage or Puppetry?

By Ghalib Sultan

As feared, the strong support for Operation Rah-e-Rast (against
Fake-Talibans and extremist miscreants who had been unabashedly
maligning the image of Islam and that of Pakistan) is threatening to
crumble courtesy Mian Nawaz Sharif's recently articulated 'worries'
over the offensive in South Waziristan.

Pakistan’s Struggle for Modernity

Pakistan’s Struggle for Modernity

The drama of the Swat Valley — its cynical abandonment to the mercy of the Taliban, the terror unleashed on it by the militants, then the recognition that the concession to the forces of darkness had not worked — is of a piece with the larger history of religious extremism in the world of Islam.

Mughalistan - An undivided Islamic nation in the Indian Subcontinent

Lessons of history have been quickly forgotten. Indians have become twisted “politically correct” escapists who prefer to turn a blind eye to reality. Now it is not about just Kashmir any more, it is all of India that Pakistan wants.

The muslim image

I had the chance of watching a documentary on BBC today. It was about young muslim friends involved in a conspiracy for bombing tourist airplanes. I was not alarmed once again at the western media's attempt to destroy what is left of muslims' image as peace loving community. It is a real shame to come across such things being interpreted as islamic.

Rationale of Islamic way of life (As I've understood!)

There are more than a billion Muslims in the world, almost 2/3 of them offer prayers (during ramadan it's almost 3/4), Saudia is inundated with pilgrims during Hajj, Eid shoppers crowd the markets, every mosque is overflowing during Friday prayers; yet we're divided, dismantled, disintegrated, and most shamefully, dominated!

Islam vis-a-vis non-Book religions

Could anyone please explain, why the Holy Quran might have remained silent on religions apart from Judaism, Christianity and the Magian religion? What happened to just being a Muslim?

What happened to just being a Muslim?
