START MSG : "It’s true. You can check it out on Red Bull’s website or look it up in Wikipedia.
What Allah Subhanna taala opened infront of me just by a small will....just by a small curiosity.....to investigate the content /
ingredient of what we are DRINKING regularly....in the name of POWER, ENERGY, HEALTH etc etc..... It was nothing but a mixture of HARAM things together.... ' RedBull ' contains ' Taurine ' which is made from the blood of several types of dead animals....specially OX (BULL), PIG, CAT & other slaughtered animals. As a Muslim we know that.... To eat dead animals is HARAM, To eat blood of any animal is also HARAM,To eat animals without it being islamically slaughtered (zabiha/ zibah ) is also HARAM.The TAURINE is derived from the blood of dead animals, The meat of animals (most probably
islamically unslaughtered) The selected parts of some animals like kidneys, prostates, thigh musclesetc of ox, pig, lamb, cat etc. IT IS HARAM.
REMEMBER ,BY EATING THE HARAM FOOD, YOUR DUAS AND PRAYERS WILL NOT BE ANSWERED AND THE BARAKA IN YOUR HOME AND EARNING WILL BE TAKEN OFF.
TAKE CARE BEFORE EATING ANYTHING.....IT'S EASY IF YOU HAVE INTERNET, YOU CAN EASILY CHECK THE CONTENTS AND ITS ACTUAL CONDITIONS BEFORE EATING THEM." END of MSG.

Taurine was FIRST obtained from OX bile (hence the word BULL) not blood and is currently, WHOLLY synthesized and not derived from its natural source
So don't fret, nothing haram is in it
Please do proper research before propogating spam. Taurine can be attained from many sources including animal tissues. Infact, by eating meat we get quantities of taurine which are very good for health. Redbull & other energy drinks use high quantities of Taurine, but there is no evidence that the source of taurine is animal blood. Synthetic Taurine can be also prepared in a lab.
Please do your research properly before just blogging & forwarding suni sunai kahaniyaan.
I apologize for the above...part of the pt of puttin it on ths forum ws to invoke ur feedbk n i ty4it...hwever, i wl def. investigate d scenario b4postn it...research is stl under way...to badar ahmed, whr u hv sd 'by eatn meat we get quantities of taurine...' is ths meat halaal? if nt, Red Bull would stl b impermissible, wd it nt?
oh goot how l33t is this guy - no offence dude your post was right but please improve your english - its very very difficult to read your horrible short cuts.
sm research...
std defntn of taurine = Taurine is a non-essential amino acid and is found in high concentrations in the white blood cells, skeletal muscles, central nervous system as well as the heart muscles....therefore, hw is it extracted for use in red bull and is it extracted frm a halaal source?
hey UFO, i am a chic not a dude and I will type my words a little longer from now on... :)
Hawa, it is not extracted anymore but is manufactured from a compound
Synthetic taurine is obtained from isethionic acid (2-hydroxyethanesulfonic acid), which in turn is obtained from the reaction of ethylene oxide with aqueous sodium bisulfite.

The country manager of RedBull here in Pakistan is a good friend of mine. I have had many discussions with him on this and he always has some explanation for it. But I did not know about these somewhat controversial elements about Taurine. Let me just forward this Buzz to him and see if he has any answer to this.
thx razorfish...in the mean time, i am awaiting replies from the Halaal councils over here and Inshallah, as soon as I receive them, i will post them here...tc
thanks hawa :) sorry for calling you a dude :P
hey, it's a pleasure UFO...and no sweat about the dude stuff... :)
um...stl waitin for the e-mails to come in....sometimes e-mails can be delayed by three days in Zimbabwe at the moment as they go through screening first...
HAWA: I am really unable to understand what you wrote in SMS english. I had to made my understanding by reading comments of khalifah..
HUM TAT MAFIA PER REHAM KHAIN and please write the things properly so the illitrate and conservative english reader like me can easily understand it.
Salaamz Mianjee...yes, alot of bloggers have said that and I have been working on it for the past few hours...I am truly sorry for the shortened English...I do intend to continue writing complete words... :)
thanx Hawa,
it will help us alot to comment on your blog instead of your english short hand..Though many of the bloggers didnt favour your point of view in this subject but it was very informative for laggerds like me who think red bull means "surkh bail"
Mianjee - laugh out loud...it's good, atleast i found out that what I had received was inaccurate...that's what I believe such forums are for...exchanging of ideas, learning...etc...
Anyhow, I just got confirmation from one council that, indeed, the taurine used in Red Bull is currently synthesized and therefore, it is Halaal..

Thank you for bearing with me :)
@ Hawaomar
After reading your buzz here. I checked the contents of Red Bull and thought "No wonder the name RED BULL makes all the sense now..."!!
Well I wrote to the Islamic Council of Australia regarding this. I have not received any reply yet. I will post the content of the reply here whenever I get it.
If the Taurine used in Red Bull is really synthetic, I think it would be only wise to mention that in the ingredients as "Synthetic Taurine", just like they mention "Halal Gelatine" in some products here in Australia.
Thanx West Coast Eagle....good point about the taurine = 'halaal taurine'..it ought to be suggested to the company...
Salaam,
NO disrepect intended but this is rediculous that nowadays, everything is branded as haraam.
Where is the proof before these emails are sent. I receive hundreds of SPAM emails about products that are haraam. I do not pay much attention to these emails.
Allah is my guidance.
Frankly I think that the people that send these emails are fanatics...If we do not know then how can we be held accountable. It is the Ulamah's duty to inform us if the need be.
It is admirable in a way that you would want to warn your fellow Muslim bros and sis but you are causing a frantic soceity.
shukran
Walaikum Salaam Rushda,
i did apologize for this error...i did not just brand something as haraam...the ingredient, taurine was viewed as controversial (depending upon its sources) but we have, through this buzz - and other sources, cleared it up and discovered that it is synthesized and hence, halaal...so although this buzz was started off too impulsively and without adequate research, it has also helped in that fellow buzzers aided in coming to a verdict..hence, it is a template for similar scenarios and served its purpose in that dialogue was engaged to come to the bottom line...
i do not believe that i can make society (frantic??? really??) or fanatical...it is inevitably what the individual chooses to believe and act upon that moulds their character...even so, why should they allow them to be made 'fanatical' by me? the power is in each individual's hands and apart from that, i believe u are hyperbolizing the entire scenario...(no disrespect intended here either)...error was made and rectified...case closed :)
Salaam,
I apologize If i came across so harsh. I was hyperbolizing the error and I ask maaf for that.
We did reach a verdict and that was the positive side to this whole scenario.
I was just a bit concerned because as a fellow Capetonian the people get very frantic when they read such emails and they are a bit gullible if I can put it bluntly
case closed :)
Shukran
Wslm Rushda - hey, no need to apologize...i absolutely understand where u are coming from and we definitely all have an equal right to voice our opinions...however, i am glad that u c the positive side to this buzz...do take care :)
