Random stuff

Ok...I just logged in four days after my last blog entry...and wow, the comments! For everyone who's reading my stuff, thank you so much! It makes me feel all warm and tingly inside! :)

I'm gonna try to write as regularly as I possibly can. As for my nick, its something my younger sister and brother came up with a long long time ago...

Right now, I'm swamped with university work! Assignments, lab reports, mid-semester tests, you name it! I dont understand why the university tends to bomabrd us students with all this work in one go. It's like they're testing how much we can take before we finally lose our sanity. It's reached a point where I cant do anything else without this nagging voice at the back of my head which keeps telling meto study study study! The torture will last for two more weeks or so, after which we'll get a week off for spring break. All we talk about is our plans for spring break. I'm hoping to go and check out the suburbs anddo some shopping and just hangout with friends...nothing involving too much activity because I wanna bum around and sleep a lot!

Ramadan is going well, in the sense that I don't feel like I'm fasting. The weather helps, I think. Winter is ending here, spring's right around the corner. I guess Muslims living in Melbourne City dont look forward to Ramadan or Eid that much , because they justremind you of how no one cares about these occasion here, and we're constantly drawing comparisons to Ramadan and Eid back home, where the whole country would be engulfed in the spirit of the occasion. Today, I broke my fast with a banana. Yesterday, it was with a cup of low-fat flavoured yoghurt. My Bangladeshi friend and I were discussing iftaris back home, and we started drooling just talking abt the pakoras, samosa, dahi baras, jalebis etc. And then I though about getting up and cooking something that would count as a decent iftari meal, but laziness kicked in, and I stuck to yoghurt. Such is the life of a university student!

I have a nine to five day at university tomorrow. Eeww. I hate studying. Everyone hates studying. I should stop whining, seriously. OOh Federer's in the US Open final! Yayyy! I love him .He's like the ultimate sports hero. I hope he wins. For the benefit f those who're reading, I love tennis and football. I love Federer and Safin an Ana Ivanovic when it comes to tennis, and I absolutely love Arsenal and the German football team. I'm like surrounded by people who love Manchester United, and hell erupts when I'm watching a Man U vs Arsenal match with them! But yah...its fun!

Its. 1.15 AM here by the way...I should be hitting bed by 3 AM. Messed up sleeping pattern. I think I'm going to be restarting my volunteer work soon. I just cant find an organization that makes me want to volunteer badly enough...But yes, volunteering is great for keeping you grounded and for enabling you to connect on a spiritual level with others. Its makes you feel good, like you;ve spend your time constructively and learnt from it too.

Asif Zardari. I felt physically sick when I heard the news. I cant even write anymore about him, because I think I'll actually end up swearing online!

Ok my brain's tired now :P I need to go do some mindless acitivty. so I'm gonna sign off for now.

Peace.

P.S. Ignore spelling mistakes, as always, please! :P
