khair mubarak, Ramdan kareem to all

WCE - Thanx...Ameen :)

What do u find most challenging in this month and how do u overcome it? :)

Shakeel - Ramadhan mubarak2u2...

Btw, is it the second day of fasting on that end of the world?

1st day here in Zimbabwe...just started a few mins ago... :)

half of zardari's 60 million to anyone who can perform the same feat as I did in my previous msg!

I need my money

wait bro.. Zardari is on line...

damn! he said my agreement with him holds no value.. they are not words of God!

Can you believe this guy?

I thought you were going to use his other line "It was only a political agreement, not part of the Quran"

I see that you did :)

I guess am too Sharif :p

Ramadan Mubarak to you all. May Allah bless us all and listens to our prayers (Ameen).

It will be first day of fasting in few hours here.

So what's gonna happen on 0915 Saira?

Well No cake certainly!

Just making sure she is not the crazy mullah type

Just making sure she is not the crazy mullah type

@khalifah

I certainly do not have a daarhi (beard).

uffffffffffff........ Majbori...... instead of club and wild party, will be going to perform Traveeh.... God's will, to shedd some gunnahs instead of committing.

Oh you people in west are pathetic! We have our own moon! We will bring out whenever we want! huh! What a moonshine!

Moonshine kills, especially if not fully cooked

@ HawaOmar

Its our first day of Ramadhan here in Australia. But as you know Muslims cannot agree on one thing. So here as well there are several communities each with its own calender to follow.

The most challenging thing in this month to manage my daily routine and break fast while still at work. And also to make non-muslims friends understand that Ramdhan is a month of blessings not a burden on us as they think it must be.

Khalifah..... I believe you're also in North America. When do you start fasting?

@WCE

We aslo have the same problem here in America. Arabs are starting on Monday and Desis will start on Tuesday. Everyone has their own theory. Arabs follow Suadi and we follow the Islamic way, someone actually has to see the moon. It is very confusing. I think they're both right in their own way but if we go with the technology then we shouldn't have this confusion. But since, In Islam seeing the moon was actually the start of the month then......

Any thoughts?

Saira: "In Islam seeing the moon was actually the start of the month then......"

'sighting' the moon is not a pre-condition :)

you very well understood what I was saying.....

Just started this morning.

Yes, technology rids us of the need to depend on a single Pathan shepherd to sight the moon

Do you have something against PATHANS?

do you know that pathan shepherds are more close (timing wise) than that idiot Mufti Munib who never can sight the moon?!

An idiot trying to sight the moon...... No wonder.

The month of blessings has just started so please
do not miss this opportunity to make dua for ourselves, our families and
friends, and and for all muslims. Also, ask your children to make dua, it
should be a family dua time just before iftar. Inshallah this way, our
hearts will be strongly connected to Allah SWT, and we will see the blessings
of Allah showering on us. A very good Hadith I came across. Would like to share.

Once Moosa (AS) asked Allah Ta'ala:
O Allah! you have granted me the honor and privilege of talking to you
directly, Have you given this privilege to any other person?

Allah
Ta'ala replied, O Moosa during the last period I am going to send an ummat, who
will be the Ummat of Mohammed (SAW) with dry lips, parched tongues, emaciated
body with eyes sunken deep into their sockets, with livers dry and stomachs
suffering the pangs of hunger- will call out to me (in dua) they will be much
much closer to me than you O Moosa! while you speak to me there are 70000 veils
between you and me but at the time of iftaar there will not be a single veil
between me and the fasting Ummati of Mohammed (SAW) O moosa I have taken upon
myself the responsibility that at the time of iftaar I will never refuse the dua
of a fasting person!

Care to give the source of this 'hadith' Qudsi?

Please don't be in the habit of believing everything you read

No, I'm not actually.... don't know the source but will definitely find out. I had heard this hadith from few people so decided to share.

Ramadan Mubarik to all of you. May Allah shower more of his blessings upon us all.

WCE - good points - there r diffs here as to the starting days amidst the community..how do we resolve these?

As for the challenge, yes - I totally agree and can relate to that 100% - how do u go about convincing the non-muslims that indeed, fasting is beneficial, abundantly full of blessings and not a burden in the v.least??? :)

Thanx, Iola and Saira - apologies for the late reply, been out the whole day, got home and no elec, running the generator for a bit now - need to dash and go pray taraweeh... :)
