Radio City and Me

Since some time there has been talk of customer service and the Pakistanis here. I am relating this incident to quote something similar.

I bought just two DVDs from Radio City, Islamabad and paid through my credit card. The shopkeeper told me that they had swiped my card twice and they would readily make the adjustment. They took my telephone number.

It was only later when I got my credit card bill and saw the payment entered twice; discussed it with my sister, who having gone through a similar incident at some other shop had written to the manager conflict resolution and had recovered the amount, that I decided to pursue the matter. I called up my bank ppl to confirm the procedure. But the following details will tell you how easy the ppl at Radio City, made my life.

I am a lil lazy where my personal interests are concerned. I tend to let go if I find any procedural matter  too cumbersome for my busy routine to adjust. I didn't fax or write the application. Fortunately my brother was going to Islamabad over the weekend so I called up Radio City, gave them the reference-the incident was but a month old, and they remembered. That was one great thing for me. I mean considering the no of customers they get and the minor purchase that I had made.

I wanted them to let my bro buy DVDs of the same amount so that I wouldn't have to go through all that hassle of writing to the bank and stuff and believe me they obliged. When my siblings went over there, I only had to call them to confirm the matter. By helping me out this way they have actually shown their magnanimous attitude which of course will keep me their customer for the rest of the life too.

This is the kind of Pakistani retail shops, we can easily be proud of.  :)
