Dear Member, Welcome to the shinning new buzzVines. It’s really great to launch yet another exciting version of BuzzVines with lots of NEW functionalities and add-on to the site.

A Brief History !

BuzzVines started as an idea to empower our youth, our generation and our people to Raise Their Voice online, on almost about anything that they cannot otherwise. The idea took birth while roaming around the cities of Pakistan and wondering where we could talk about our daily life issues with the system around us. Where we can share our point of views, discuss issues within among ourselves, the people of Pakistan. With this ambition in mind, we started work on BuzzVines system in Feburary 2007 & launched our first version in March 2007.

The idea picked up and started to show positive results and within a few months we had a reasonable amount of members who started to enjoy our idea and shared their thoughts with the community of Pakistani Bloggers and an every day Joe in general.

Keeping this in view, the BuzzVines team went back to the drawing board and started to work on enhancing our content structure/ theme .In May 2007 we re-invented the BuzzVines style and re-launched an enhanced version with a new theme and added some functionality for organizing content and sharing it around.

Achievement
With reference to 14th August, we launched a campaign "I Still Love Pakistan", which received tremendous amount of attention (3340 views, 53 comments, 72 Pakistani Bloggers took part, coverage from the nation, and more than 50 blogs mentioned us).

BuzzVines became the first Pakistani Blogging portal to have organized a Bloggers Get-Together on the 14th of August, 2007 at Techy's Lounge, a café in Lahore with sponsorship from Bramerz (Pvt) Ltd (our parent company), RedBull, Google and Horizon Marketing. It was really exciting to see such a positive response and we thanked all the bloggers online and those who turned up at the event. A big THANKS for all the support.(pictures here)

BuzzVines Version 3

So after lots of strategic thinking, lots of hard work in the month of Ramadhan with our religious souls alive, we again started work on an enhanced version of blogging. A new concept that will help our publishers to publicize, interact, communicate, socialize, develop groups and even run their own personalized blogs under the umbrella of BuzzVines.com. We divided our new launch into two portions.

1. Blogging Platform
2. Social Networking

1. Blogging Platform
   Now our members don’t need to make an account at other blogging sites to setup and run a blog. No you don’t have to be alone in the world of blogging. You can start you blog in your own Pakistani blogging community, where you write about your people your thoughts and the content is read by the people who care and are interested. The Right audience, right HERE, right NOW.
2. Social Networking
   Okay, its time for all of you to be friends with each other. Let’s face it. It’s no fun standing apart and talking alone, when you can join up in a group and make your discussions interactive and friendly. Voice of 5 people is heard much better and louder than the squeak of a loner. So we thought of giving our members the opportunity and now you can add other BuzzVines members as your friends, send them secret private messages for organizing a revolution, make groups, invite other friends from other networks and much more.

Enhanced Functionality !
Yes we enhanced your profile page, now its loaded with

• Your profile
• Your recent posts
• Your friend’s recent posts (keep an eye on what your friends are saying)
• Recent Visitors to Your Profile (keep an eye who is checking you out)
• Guest wall for your friends / BuzzVines members to write something for you.
• Personalized weather of the city of your choice around the globe.

Issues!
Confession Time. I guess it’s fair to say something about the issues now that exist in the system. First and the most pressing one would be freedom of speech and disabling some of the posts due to non-publishable material.

One thing I need to make clear is that the admin does not remove any post from BuzzVines unless it is

• Spam
• Duplicated content
• Unnecessary links heading outside (without any original content along)
• Contains abusive language i.e. (you know)
• Contains adult (or near nude) content/ images

Recently we received information on certain posts being removed and certain members protested against it. We did not remove those posts, they were removed by the members of BuzzVines by reporting them abusive. Our system is developed as such that people have complete power. On the one hand they can publish whatever they want, on the other hand, if they find something abusive, they can help themselves by reporting and removing it (Report As Offensive link is present in the footer of every post). If 2 - 5 members report a post abusive, it goes into moderation where our senior members review it and in the case of it being found abusive or otherwise, the post gets deleted or replaced, respectively. However, if a post is not reported abusive, it does not get any review from our senior members and things go normal as they are supposed to go.

BuzzVines Future.

Well, things haven't stopped with this launch of version 3 and every passing day from now onwards, we will be enhancing features at BuzzVines. We are also on a look out for Senior Members/ Moderators for the community. Those who are interested please send a private message to the admin from or contact the admin.
