Emulating Pakistan
submitted 8 months 17 days ago by: Khalifah : 11 commentsTaking a leaf out of the Pakistani military's book the Honduran military has ousted the elected leader (deported him) and the new president has stated
"Here, in front of Honduras and the entire world, I guarantee we will have free elections, as soon as we decide when,"
Now where have I heard these words before?
People of Honduras, trust me, there will be no elections and the military will continue to rule for at least 10 years as it has done in the past.
I think the Americans got it right when they gave the entire population the right to bear arms. No military dictator would even dream of staging a coup here simply because the resulting militia movement would be unstoppable. This is exactly what the people of Honduras, Pakistan, Burma, etc must do to 'tame' their rogue militaries.

member of NRA too, Khalifah?
You bet.
Just can't stand men who are paid to kill and be killed and somehow manage to have themselves considered martys and saviors.
Their eternal mantra is "We risk our lives to keep you safe"
No bitch, you, first of all, hardly ever have to risk your life; you join the military just for the benefits, secondly, if you do end up in the war zone; hey, that was the choice (read calculated risk) YOU made, for, lastly, I never asked you to "protect me", I can do that very well myself.
The only thing armies are good for is plundering the national wealth and for bringing misery upon both the country of origin and depending on their strength, around the world or at least in their immediate region of influence.
As far as keeping "safe" goes, whenever a nation gets invaded by another (you guessed it) army, it is invariable the locals, the militias, that reverse or stall the advance or in the case of occupation provide continued resistance to it.
Even though I won't vouch for the army in general, but I do think it is a better option than the mass taking up the gun. Nothing is perfect. But everyone with a gun? Sorry a no go area for me.
"An armed society is a polite society". If everyone has a gun, no one will use it; just like the nukes, they are only used against those that don't have em
Please think before you speak :)
Khalifah,
Use some sense while comparing a gun to a nuke. Tell me how much is crime lower in texas as compared to say new jersey or new york which have tougher gun laws.
By your argument, there should not be gang wars at all - after all, both side usually have guns, dont they ?
Man with each post you just seem to be all out to prove your abject ignorance on all issues.
Yes, lets compare crime in Louisiana after Rita and in Texas after Ike; you'll certainly see the difference.
And New Jersey, despite its significantly lower population (Houston has 6 times the population of Newark) than Houston has almost the same crime rate as Houston.
I don't think I am going to bother responding to your posts; it shouldn't be my responsibility to educate you on even the most trivial and easily researched issues :)
You just made my argument for me - Newark, inspite of the tough gun laws in NJ has a gun culture like or worse than texas. By your standards, there should be no crime in newark since everyone and their dog owns guns. Why is newark near the top in crime ?
Why are there gang wars, doesnt your argument warrant that if both parties have guns, there should be no fights
Your ignorance just blows my mind (pun intended).
Newark has lax gun laws but one of the lowest percentage of gun owners in the union. They are number three from the bottom.
Why am I even bothering to enlighten you maybe you are better off in your ignorant bliss :)
Lol ! there are two types of gun owners, legal and illegal. In illegal terms, newark would rank near the top, as would camden
And the second question is still outstanding. Why is gang violence one of the biggest concerns of the police force in the entire country ? by your theory, since all gangs own guns, they really should not fight each other !!
Khalifah's bizzare theories.
When world seems to be crawling forward towards peace (gun free society) issues, he is suggesting leaping backwards into 7th century Arabia, only replacing swards with the modern fire power.
A classic of replicationist.
I am sure similar ideas hit Zia-ul-Haq too when he introduced Kalashnikov to Pakistani colleges and madrassas. We are still paying price for the follies of our previous fanatic dictator.

babar,
Since khalifah was so eager to know about your relatives, maybe it is time to ask him if he is a close relative of mullah-ul-haq. He certainly speaks like him. He would probably be well versed in the hudood ordinances as well
