Kashmir through Iola's Eyes! Dedicated to Khalifah and the Admin ;)
submitted 4 months 28 days 23 hours ago by: Iola : 27 comments
Kindly check out the following link to take a sneak peak into Kashmir as I saw it 3 days back. I have not done a very good job at the blog and am not v happy with the order in which the pictures appear.
However, a look bottom-up would give you the heavenly insight that I had. Do opt for viewing the images from the lowest post to the one on the top even though all can be seen on the same page.
Also let me know if you feel like visiting Kashmir and feel free to download or save any picture that you take a special liking to. It would be an honour. :)
I REPEAT BOTTOM UP ONLY FOR BEST VIEWING!

Beautiful images. Thanks Iola, I must say that you have done a wonderful job with the camera. I think, it's time we introduce an image gallery option in BuzzVines for managing and saving such beautiful shots.

Admin! Which one did you like the most?
This question is for all viewers, including the ANGRYYOUNGMAN! :) Just curious. :)
They're all brilliant, but I liked "A Road to Nowhere", the most.

Quite a pick champ! :)
Reminded me of another one that isn't there. Putting it up now. It is 'sans time and space' and for Khalifah whom I remember telling that he should wait before I put up a pic which would truly depict the very concept.
wonderful....simply splendid...both ur photography n the scenery...i loved sunbathed valley n the Toli peer top...but i couldn't find the man in "Man sitting by the corn crop"...where is he????
What a joy to hear you loving it! He squats on the left side in blue clothes! :)
I am speechless; you lucky bum!
Those pics are enchanting and it is really hard to pick a favorite although my top few would be "Trees among clouds": (my current desktop theme, hope you don't mind), " A sun bathed valley", "Another Fav", "Old Kasmiri man" and "Kashmiri young and old"
I trace my ancestry to Kashmir and was quite taken aback when I saw the pic "Kashmiri young and old" and "Old Kashmiri" I can really identify with those people and the landscape. Maybe its all in my mind; a result of childhood idealization but I almost felt like I 'knew' the place and the people; quite surreal
By the way what's up with the graffiti on the rock?
I climbed up the mountain, stood on its top and used a stone to mark my presence in that world. I learnt the feeling 'on top of the world', 'to stand on top of a mountain',' there shall be no alps' and felt the need to leave a mark there exactly as Mianjee said. :)
Every place I go should bear testimony to my existence!! ;)
SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL.....NO WORDS AVAILABLE TO APPRECIATE WORK...MUJHY EARTHQUAKE SAY PEHLAY KASHMIR KI YAD AGYEE...
KHALIFAH grafity is a prove that once iola passed through these vallies(as we trace Sikander's footsteps)
Awesome photos, made my day.

Where Eagles Dare
Toli Peer wrecked after the earthquake
Delighted at having been the source of such pleasure hasan, mianjee and Khalifah! :)
They are wonderful and such hospitable ppl that it is unbelievable. The plums we picked from the trees and ate without washing, the absence of any grime on the face, the tea everyone offers as you trek on to the mountains, the giggles of school girls, the way they can tread through these rocky terrains in the dark without any light- mindblowing and most relaxing experience of my life.
I am planning a life in which I would only be a tourist! See the world and show it to everyone around through my eyes. Won't everything become beautiful that way? :)
Good pictures.
1. Cross Sectional view of Pine Trees
2. Straightfaced
3. Fog
Splendid, good photography skills.
Hard to select as all are real good. My choice btw…
Thick Beautiful Woods
A Sunbathed Valley

A Kashmiri Well

Rocky Extensions
A Glimpse into Kashmir
Thick beautiful woods is one of my favourites too.
It feels so good to find you taking pleasure in these scenes that captured my attention! My gift to you ppl is being reciprocated, I would say. :)
Iola - apologies for the length of time it has taken me to give feedback..my connection has been bad - was waiting for all the images to upload but alas, that has yet to happen...keep refreshing but just isn't loading...sigh..I'm sure I'm missing out on much artistry at work here :'(
Anyway, from the few I that were viewable with my connection, I like them all really but really like :
Others - with the goat and chicken in it - represents harmony
The rich valley series

Really outstanding work though - ever think of a future in photography?
Well...that's sad. I actually wanted to capture the beauty along with a glimpse into the Kashmiri culture. Ummm...hope you are able to see them all soon.
I am just ok where photography is concerned. One day, yes, everything is possible. :)
Wow, what beauty. I loved all the views.
I love nature and wilderness. Have taken a lot of snaps of different places. Will share those here some day. So wait till you see through my eyes :)

Iola, were you in Indian last time? Are you Indian? how have you entered kashmir, if you are Paki? Boder is closed since 1990. By the way Picture is good.
Went on a SUV up through Islamabad. Good enough for an Indian and Pakistani! :)
wow Iola! You have inborn talent of photography.
I like all the pics espacially pics of Jehlem River
Oh wow! Feels great Sophisticated.
Check the map UFO for identifying the disputed area
iola! just for my general knowledge, on how many rocks and trees you have lest your footprints like Mainjee?
Forest Department should take a strict notice of both of these natrual beauty destroyers
Lol. Was written with a stone on just this slab. Would be washed away with rain. That is what the Pahari assured me. So that goes for you too. :)
we have caught you red handedly having this pictorial proof and who knows on how many rocks you have embossed ur name?? You have done same what Talibans have done with the Malam Jaba Resort.
wesay I have decided to take water proof paint with me ;p for solid art work
