Afghanistan Threat

Afghanistan Threat

Whose opinion is right Pakistan or Afghanistan?

Afghan President Hamid Karzai threatened to send troops over the border into pakistan to confront militants based there.
He said with reason "Afghanistan has the right to self-defence. When they(taleban) cross the territory from Pakistan to come and kill Afghans and to kill coalition troops it exactly gives us the right to go back and do the same." Mr Karzai's remarks came tow days after Taleban fighters attacked as Afghan Jail, freeing some 900 inmates, including 350 Taleban members.

Pakistan has warned that we will not tolerate any violations of its borders. He furthur said " Pakistan did not interfere with other countries and would not allow any interference in its affairs."

It is not Karzai who threaten pakistan..behind him Bush regeim is there. Bush has instructed Special force to catch Osama group so he can avoid his impeachment for which a resolution have been passed.

Karzai is a dog who barks at master's signal.

Yeah agree that Karzai is remote control. But check his reasons to attack, isn't this true.

Pakistan has warned that we will not tolerate any violations of its borders. He furthur said " Pakistan did not interfere with other countries and would not allow any interference in its affairs."

That is such a pathetic response; a more appropriate response would have been

"Any further violation of the border by Afghan or American forces will be deemed an act of war and be grounds for retaliation in kind"

Khalifah :

You are right...the weak tone shows the weak response..On other hand Mr Hussain Haqani todl pakistani community in US that people sitting abroad should not be over worried about pakistan. Poeple should not condemn US becasue US funded us in past and will give us funds in future.

In pakistan a joker (Ahmed Mukhtar) tells us that he has asked for compensation for the killings of pakistani people by US attack. he resembels with MUSTANA(stage actor). In a drama when his sister complains that a guy has teased him on the road, he goes to that guy and asks for payment for the enjoyment.

Baghairti has no specific dimensions..

Interesting facts:

There is a total of 100,000 Afghan and some 40,000 NETO troops in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has got approximately 1,449,000 troops (active + reserve + paramilitary). This makes Pakistan army the 7th largest in the world.

Someone please tell above to Karzai so he can focus on addressing the actual problems instead of provoking Pakistan . He needs to fix his own house first and then point fingers at us

Numbers don't matter in today's conflicts, improvisation does. Pakistan army is ill prepared to face any external threat. Remove nuclear weapons and external assistance from the equation and a mercenery force like Blackwater could defeat the Pakistan army in the matter of days.

Iraqi army, one of the largest at that time, was routed in the matter of hours, civilian resistance has put up a fight.

Khalifah,

a. I was refereeing to the numbers in terms of ability to cover the geography of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

b. Go to your books and check for yourself the numbers and techno-ability of Iraqi army and may be then you can give more fair comparison.

I understand reason for your resentment, because army
does not support Nawaz-ul-Haq the same way as it use to do, but I don’t see this as criteria to judge capabilities of Pak-army.

Has the Pakistani army ever returned from any battle field victorious?

We have survived 60 yrs.

Plant a tree

We have survived 60 years because politically it would make no sense for India to include 170 mil additional muslims in its democracy

You are truly a Khalifah. Joanne K Rowling much
be feeling very lucky that you don't publish your fictional tales.

Plant a tree

Do the math.

170 million Pakistani's + 140 Million Bengalis + 200 Million Indian muslims = 510 muslims against 700 million Hindus. No viable government could be formed without full muslim participation

Nothing fictional here; just common sense which apparently is quite uncommon

You are forgetting the fact that India is a secular state with Sikh PM and a Muslim president. They don’t dislike Pakistan for being a Muslim state. That hardly is a factor for majority of Indians. Unlike us, they are far more nationalistic, and that is where Pakistan becomes an enemy. Mind you, it was Congress and not Hindu religious parties that fought wars with Pakistan including separation of Bangladesh. Religion was never a factor for them.

Common sense surely is not that common

The fact that India occupied and then allowed Bangladesh to become an independent country is in itself evidence enough that India has no designs to create a United India. There was nothing to stop them from absorbing BD back into Inida. This fact even undermines the perpetual argument touted by the army that India is out to invade us and wants to occupy us.

Power in India has historically been vested in the office of the PM; how many muslim PM's has India seen? They would rather have a Sikh PM even though the Sikh population is a fraction of the Indian Muslim population

Wars were neither fought by Indian congress nor Hindu nationalists, they were imposed upon India by Pakistan, yes even the 71 war. How long could India have sat and watched Pakistani troops rape and brutalize the Bengalis?

You missed the entire point.

India does not want to occupy any land (Bangladesh
or Pakistan). Some segments in Indian establishment simply want to disintegrate Pakistan for the following reasons:

  1. So they can be the only recognizable force in subcontinent.
  2. So they can prove (considering their Nationalism – not Hindu
nationalism but Indian nationalism) that creation of
Pakistan was a big mistake and no such thing as two nation theory practically existed.
  3. To justify big army and defense spending.

In India, only a little proportion of population i.e. Hindu extremist, consider occupying territory of Bangladesh and Pakistan to unite India into one big ancent land as part of their religious duty. So occupying Bangladesh was never on the cards for the Congress Government. The purpose was simply to disintegrate Pakistan.

And for the human right argument, please check India’s
human right record for yourself. Also check the people to people relation between India and Bangladesh.Every weak Indian border security kills a Bangladeshi farmer on their borders just for the sake of shooting practice. Make some Bangladeshi friends and they will add a lot to your knowledge on these issues.

Conclusion
Indian people and their establishment are not much different from us.

Apparently you have convinced yourself that no attrocities were committed by Pakistani troops in BD so no sense arguing on that point

"So they can prove.....that Pakistan was a big mistake"

I will ignore the fact that there is no basis for this statement but I would like to point out the inherent contradiction therein. If they do not desire unification of India why would they waste time and effort, not to mention the bloodshed, only to point out that they were right and that Pakistan was a mistake? This just doesn't make any sense.

"Every week Indian border security kills a Bangladeshi farmer on their borders just for the sake of shooting practice"

Are you really that ignorant of the recent events?

In 2001 Bangladeshi troops occupied a village in a border dispute with India and captured 20 troops. 15 troops were tortured and executed

BD routinely, like Pakistan fires upon Indian positions in the disputed region and again, like Pakistan, cries foul when India retaliates in kind.

You really do need to give up your Bangladeshi friends as they are corrupting your impressionable mind

A. Atrocities were committed & time and again, in our
previous discussions, I have accepted that.

B. Please give me a damn break. Your assertion that Bangladeshi army of total 144,000 troops attacks 2.5 million strong Indian army (which by the way is second largest standing army in the world and it also has advanced nuclear capabilities) is as stupid as it can get. Please stop acting stubborn now as this debate is already over.

It's not my job or my place to educate you but nothing irks me more than total and absolute ignorance

Now the debate is truly over; I don't believe there is anything to learn from discourse with you

Depends on which side of story you like to believe in. 1:17 proportion of troop strength is enough evidence to have a feel of the situation. + How come India the only country in the region that has bad relations with every neighbor. China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh - interestingly none of Indian opponents have any real dispute with each other or any other neighbor.

Some links for border killings by Indian army are stated as follow:

So apparently you know (sorry your Bengali friends know) more than the Bangladeshi govenrment which eventually apologized to India for occupation of that village?

Please don't expect any more responses from me; this conversation has become downright ridiculous

usa  is crying wolf, osama bin laden is not alive

No evidence of being alive or death. Have you?
