Indeceny
submitted 2 months 17 days 15 hours ago by: psingh : 9 commentsa freind of mine (who is a buff looking dude) went to his university one day wearing a spandex type sleevless jacket, unbuttoned from chest and wearing a jeans tight from the crotch. so he was walking thru the corridors when a teacher (middle aged female) stopped him and rudely said "aap ko sharam ani chahiye educational istitution main aise anay say.. agar aap ko zyada garmi lagti hai to ghar main bathain"
in the same university (and also many other ones) they have girls wearing transparent clothes showing their full legs and hips , sleevless is very common, very high cut shirts showing waist abs, wide necks showing lots of cleavage and back, really tight fitted stuff figure hugging etc.
not that i am against this. . whatever women wear its none of my business. infact if they wear this stuff im happy cos its eye candy for me
but this just shows the confused mentality people have here. school and college authoriteis cannot say anything to girls in colleges and unversities. no one dares tell them somthing like "please wear decent clothes" and suppressing female liberty. so a man flaunting his body (if he has a good one) is seen as a threat by those very people.
its amazing that many years ago (and also in illiterate backward socities) when society was more narrow minded and patriarchical they would have raised more cries if women wore sexy clothes and nobody would have cared if men roamed around naked.....but as you go into a 'liberal' and more secular society the tables get turned!!!
i was attending a sociology class and the teacher gave us an example of sexual harassment caused by wearing indecent clothes. the example she gave us was 'boys these days wearing pants that are too low and which sometimes exposes their backs and abs and thus make women around uncomfortable !!!!!!!

It's wonderful to see the mentality changing in a positive way. Women have sufferred long enough
"It's wonderful to see the mentality changing in a positive way"
this is not a positive change. true that women have suffered long enough but that doesnt mean they have to oppress men now.
if society is ok with women wearing sexy clothes then why that same society is rasing a cry about indeceny when some male tries to flaunt his body. positive change my arse
that doesnt mean they have to oppress men now
Why not?
An eye for an eye, that's what religion tells us
I agree with Khalifa. By the way, men shud not follow women in each and every thing.
RizSh
what nonsesne. so does that mean women should not follow men in each and every thing as they are doing these days

Wow good news pants that are too low which sometimes exposes their backs and abs and thus make women around uncomfortable wow wow wow
What an information for many boyz who want to attract women. May be they would use this new information and wear these thing when they are around women.
i know thats such a stupid example. the teacher is clearly a die hard man hating radical feminist
@ TOPIC
there is an explanation for your story.
as you said your friend is a "buff looking dude" i assume he is an attractive and masculine looking guy with a muscular physique (thats the reason obviously a sane man would wear that sleevless spandex and tight jeans !)
so the thing is that a genuinely attractive man is not a NORM and is rare. they are generally seen as a 'THREAT' in society not in the conscious but in the sub-conscious. its difficult to explain what i mean here by threat but the conventional values of modern liberal society driven by feminst ideals and also mens ego / patriarchical elements.....both are threatened by this man !!!
the men feel threatened bcos such a man will seduce their wives, sisters, daughters etc. any man would naturally feel uncomfortable in the presense of such man with his female acquaintances but obviously its a taboo to express such feelings. its NOT due to the fact that such display of looks is against their morals and religion because the men who feel threatened can very well be liberal and non-religious.
on the other hand the feminist will view such a man as a stereotype of the male chauvinist who likes to flaunt his maculnity and by extention degrades women and therefore a threat to society.
let me tell you that ITS NOT ABOUT MORALS to start with. this is not an issue of indeceny. women are only critisized (wherever) for display of skin and curves on the basis of morality. men are never critisized for exposure for moral reasons. because our conventional morals (derived from religion) actually permit men to expose their torsos and legs upto knees!!! ironic isnt it. you can still see construction labours and teenage boys on street roaming shirtless and no one seems to notice !! but you cannot critisize women on the basis of morality even because that would automatically be against their freedom of sexuality and expression and would be seen as orthodox and backward in todays secular world.
i hope that explains your observation
"teacher gave us an example of sexual harassment caused by wearing indecent clothes. the example she gave us was 'boys these days wearing pants that are too low and which sometimes exposes their backs and abs and thus make women around uncomfortable !!!!!!! "
if men wearing low pants is sexual harassment then many women would be in jail today !!!
