VPTCL Scam
submitted 5 months 20 days 11 hours ago by: sporty : 2 commentsScam using the brand name VPTCL...
Yesterday morning I received a phone call on my VPTCL from an unknown number (054-741-6465). The person on the other side was saying that there was a prize scheme for VPTCL users and your number along with other 49 users has been drawn out for the prize of PKR 500,000/-.
Well, well well, it is enough to make anyone happy, isn’t it?
The guy asked for my CNIC and permanent address. The second thing he asked which opened my eyes; was to purchase VPTCL calling card of PKR 500. He said don’t scratch the card just provide the serial number and carry that ‘un-scratched’ card tomorrow morning in the bank. The line was hanged up then. I did call him back & provided CNIC with permanent address.
He said it was announced on GEO news but you haven’t responded that’s why he was calling. I don’t know why but in the end he said, you can also visit the PTCL website to confirm the news. To be very honest I was willing to purchase what he has asked but the website thing changed my mind. I visited the PTCL website right away and found nothing there. I made a phone call to my friend who works in PTCL Islamabad, he told me that there’s nothing like that. To make it final I then called to VPTCL guys and they also confirmed that there is absolutely nothing like that and the man is trying to steal the calling cards systematically.
Since it was crystal clear so I didn’t call that guy neither he did!
Beware of cheaters…
The call was made from (054-741-6465) and the person was Mr. Irfan.
The point of sharing the matter here @ BuzzVines is to inform as much people as possible. On the other hand to request the authorities to put strict check on these cheaters & take preventive actions against those who are involved in running the scams.

THANKZ SPORTY
I WILL BE CAREFUL.
Vptcl is for slow waltz with internet only. Anyone who phones on it has to be a fraud.
Besides it (PTCL) is run by arabs - and beware of arabs bearing gifts. Loudspeakers on mosques is one such gift.
