Predestination

bleh, writing down what you believe in is hard.
dhika start.
so let me ask, what do you think destiny is?
1) an inevitable course of events predestined by God,
or
2) that individuals choose their own destiny by choosing different paths throughout their life.
i'd go for option number 2. and yes i copied the definitions from wiki because i couldn't describe what i wanted to say.
option number 1 :-
my main conflict with this option is that if everything has been already predestined, what was the use of our lives? what were we created for? created for living a life filled with events written by God on a tablet ? my second conflict with this option is that, what about our sins? were they too written by God, or does the sinful part of our lives come under free-will? how can God, whom we call the all Just and all Merciful and all those other fancy powerful synonyms predestine us to lie, cheat etc? the all Good God making us do bad things? oh noes! and then there comes the part of our mistakes. the mistakes we made and continue to make, are they actually made by God? and then why do we regret if everything has already been planned? lets all pray to God and lets go with the flow, because everything will come our way =)
so that must mean, according to me, we choose our own lives. things make sense this way. anything and everything we do, whether good or bad, is because of our own personal efforts. no predestination baby. but here comes another problem...
why do we pray to God if it is only us who can alter our personal destinies? or does God interfere now and then to help us? but why would there be divine intervention when we have been made capable for choosing ourselves?
correct me where you think i'm wrong, i've most probably not made my view point clear, but bleh, writing down what you believe in is hard.

To answer of ur Qz in a v.random manner (owing to time constraints)...We are making choices in our lives (through a normal view) of which God already knows of the choices we are going to make (aerial view)...we were created to worship God, spread goodness, be the vicegerents of God on earth and to serve humanity (via careers, occupations, etc)...God will test us time and again even though He know what we will end up doing - we do not know what will end up doing so it is a learning curve for us...incremental to development...Furthermore, life without such challenges (where you talk of sin, temptation, etc) would not build our character...sometimes one has to 'knock their heads' to truly appreciate what they had, to sincerely repent, to be more humble, more empathetic...look at the purpose fo fasting for eg...hope this makes sense2u...tc..
