Of Mice and Elephants!

Isn't it frustrating to watch these petty Pakistani politicians making false claims about how they've changed the entire economic scenario of the country? It's not just frustrating; I feel this is going to drive me crazy one of these days.

Can't they see what the common man has to go through every day? How people have to stand in long queues outside utility stores to get salt, sugar and oil at discount rates and then come home to discover that all these things are expired? Or when a clerk, going to his office in the morning, on his pathetic motorbike, is stuck in a traffic jam just because one of these 'high ranking officials' uses the same route and the traffic is blocked for him?

When was the last time any politician rode a motorcycle, and that too without thousands of guards all around them, in the scorching heat of Lahore? When did they last get a meager wage of Rs. 6000 (an average income in Pakistan) and run a house with it? How do they suppose the common man's going to survive when lentils cost more than a hundred rupees per kilo? Where is this man going to get money for buying new clothes, or a decent place to live in?

Politicians in power these days think themselves above God. They don't give a damn about living standards of the masses as long as they live in fabulous palaces. Half of Pakistan is dying because of the consumption of contaminated water, but these few men at the top can't care less. All they worry about these days is if their party will be able to win these up-coming elections or not.

They strive day and night to devise plans to win the peoples votes so that they can secure their power in Pakistan’s politics for another five year term. Had they been this enthusiastic about bringing a social and economic revolution in Pakistan, we would’ve left America behind!

Everyone’s hungry for power. Those who have it want more and those who don’t have it would do anything for it. It’s a sorry state of affairs in this country at the moment. And the most ironic thing is that we, the people of Pakistan, are mere specs of filth for the people who rule us. They do not, even for a second, realize that all the power and the offices they hold are because of us! If Pakistan were an uninhabited country who would these politicians rule then? But, unfortunately, it has been more than 60 years since Pakistan was born and not even one government has realized this. They continue making us feel sorry for being Pakistani’s and we continue supporting every other dud who stands in the elections.

This world would have been a wonderful place if power were a mouse and all politicians were elephants. That would’ve set things right!

Food for Thought:

The irony of the fact is that even if we don't support these duds.. they'll still retain power!

How can we set things right?

"how can we set things right?"

Answer: Make them stand in a line and SHOOT 'EM ALL!!!!!!!
