Namira Salim, a France based Pakistani lady is going to be the first Pakistani, selected among the chosen 100 by Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, to be launched into space in 2008.
The thirty five year old was born and bred in Karachi and headed for the US after her intermediate from the Government Commerce College, Karachi. She is well known for her artistic endeavours, but has entered the hall of fame with this adventurous journey she is about to embark.
Namira is currently undergoing training for the space flight in the US and has recently also had the honour of being the first Pakistani to hoist the Pakistani flag at the North and South Pole during the International Polar Year that marks the challenge of climate change our planet is facing.
