The PPP seems to have placed conditions on the restoration of the judiciary whereas the tenure of the chief justice will be reduced and he will not be allowed to take suo moto action or constitute benches.

In addition, the number of judges of the superior judiciary will be increased to make the reinstated judges a minority in the face of the new judges brought in after the November 3, 2007, Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).

What a shame for a party that speaks endlessly about the independence of the judiciary.
