Mobilink (an Orascom Telecom Company) to deploy a WiMAX 802.16e-2005
access network for the operator in Pakistan. Under the terms of the
agreement, Motorola will design, plan, deploy and optimize a WiMAX
network for Mobilink, deliver integration and support services as well
as indoor and outdoor customer premises equipment (CPE) units to enable
faster adoption of the operator's WiMAX offering.
Covering major metropolitan areas such as Lahore and Islamabad, the new Motorola-based 802.16e-2005 WiMAX network will enable Mobilink to extend its current service offering beyond cellular and data offerings to high speed broadband and VoIP services for fixed line residential and business subscribers.
This put Wateen in a difficult positiong as for the past so many months they are unable to launch, there wiMax and there is lots of speculation about there failed technology or lack of Management / organizational skills.
Mobilink with help of Orascom has shown clear intentions of investing not only into telecom but as well as broadband / data transfer. Recently Orascom acquired two major ISP's in Pakistan "WOL & Dancom" although the cost of acusation is unknow.

I had and am having very serious and grave problem with Wateen. I made a mistake of buying their WiMAX service on 17th, Jan 2008. They charged me extra Rs 1000 installation CHARGES on the pretex that their technical staff would visit me and install the set. They did not give the user name and password and till todate (which is 30th Jan 2008) I am without the connection.
I HAVE REPORTED TO THE MATTER TO THEIR COMPLAINTS ON 18TH, JAN 2008. THE COMPLAINT # IS 6255, I EVEN SENT AN EMAIL TO THEIR HEADQUARTERS BUT RECEIVED NO REPLY
IMAGINE THE SERVICE WATEEN IS PROVIDING
IF ANY ONE IS SUFFERING DUE TO INEFFICIENCY OF WATEEN PLEASE CONTACT ME SO WE MAY TAKEUP THE CASE WITH THE CONCERNED AUTHORITIES JOINTLY
