INTEL AND WATEEN LAUNCH SIZZLING SUMMER CAMPAIGNS! IT Awareness Carnivals and first-ever Telco Bundling Program in Pakistan
submitted 3 months 6 days 5 hours ago by: shayan.ali : 0 commentsKARACHI, August 2, 2008 - Maintaining its commitment to increase access to technology across Pakistan, Intel Pakistan Corporation and Wateen today announced an IT Awareness Carnival across Pakistan in a ceremony inaugurated by City Nazim Mr. Mustafa Kamal. WiMAX-enabled PCs will be the particular focus of the Carnival.
The Carnival will visit 11 cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Jhelum and Bahawalpur. Special offers on the purchase of computers, laptops and WiMAX connectivity will also be offered during the campaign. It is hoped that through these campaigns Pakistanis can acquire greater 21st century digital literacy skills, which can benefit Pakistan’s socio-economic development overall.
Intel Pakistan Corporation and Wateen today also announced a further initiative under the Intel World Ahead Program: Pakistan’s first-ever telco connectivity program. Through this program, Wateen’s WiMAX services will be offered at selected 3rd party Genuine Intel Dealers (GID), wherein selected 3rd party Genuine Intel Dealers can offer add-on WiMAX connectivity on behalf of Wateen. The program will be offered in 22 cities across Pakistan and is a further demonstration of commitment by Intel and Wateen to make computing and connectivity available to more people nationwide.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Mustafa Kamal said “This is a noteworthy initiative taken by Intel and Wateen, which will not only provide accessibility and connectivity to the masses but also educate them about the latest technology. The city government encourages others companies to come up with similar initiatives which educate the masses in a fun environment.”
