"If not you, then who?"

On Sunday, Dawn newspaper published an article by Shehzad Roy, a well known pop star and president of the Zindagi trust. Shehzad rightly pointed out that the easiest way to solve most of our problems is to educate the masses. And he held the "intelligentsia" of Pakistan responsible for not playing a role in the development of the education sector.

I for one agree with what Roy wrote. Education is a mere profit making business for all these private schools opening up in every nook and cranny of the country. You see, the first and foremost thing that we have to realize as a nation is that education should always be number one on our priority list. I can bet that if the government sells off all these luxury automobiles that they bestow upon their little servants we will be able to bag enough money to completely turn things around, as far as education is concerned. But who's going to be so benevolent? No one cares!!

I agree with you. Quality Education is a major problem in our country. A noteable thing in government sector is that government is testing the abilities of Internees upon Intermediate and Bachelor students in colleges. How can fresh graduate taught the students of Intermediate. They have no teaching skill. I think that there must be pressure on government for adjustment of Internee to some other sector not in Education.
