1776-1788, Edward Gibbons publishes a huge six volume work entitled "The History Of The Decline And Fall Of The Roman Empire." His work compiled a detailed document which provided clear steps required to collapse an empire without the use of force.

Gibbons listed five basic reasons that destroyed the enormous Roman Empire:

The dramatic increase of divorce undermined the institution of the family.
The imposition of higher taxes undermined the economic stability and vitality of the Empire. Taxes were raised to pay for deficit government spending, to pay for food for all in society and to pay for government-sponsored activities of diversion, such as circuses and sports. Interestingly, as the time of the final collapse drew closer, greater emphasis was placed on sports, to divert the attention of the public from the distressing news of massive trouble within the Empire.
The drive for personal pleasure had become very intense, even to the point of obsession. Gibbons noted that, at the very end, sports had become more exciting and brutal.
People lost their faith, both religiously and in their government. Paganism gave way to Christianity and the efficient Roman Government gave way to chaos and disintegration.
Hidden conspirators were working within the government to secretly destroy it. They worked quietly, invisibly and deceitfully; during the entire time they were secretly dismantling the government of the Roman Empire, they publicly proclaimed their unswerving support of it.

This all sounds very familiar.

Divorce rate in Pakistan is all time high and is expected to grow further as the race towards becoming an achiever increases between men and especially women.
Taxes have shot-up and a common man cannot save anything for the rainy days. All is spent either to meet the basic commodities or the super imposed taxes on utilities and income. The tax imposition on our industrial sector has forced many textile factories to declare bankruptcy or close their business otherwise, as no more can they compete in the international market. Result is that hundreds of thousands of households are either coming on the streets to beg OR committing suicide OR are becoming dacoits and looters. The level of distress has also gone up, resulting in all sorts of social evils.
If we take a look at the rich and famous around us, they all seem to be lost in extreme pleasure, not in the form of sports but in the glamour and lust of money, power and parties. For reference, pick up a latest copy of the magazine GT (Good Times) and Daily Times Magazine and many other that have follow suit. They are all full of the same junk.
Faith, do we even know what it means. It sounds like on of those folk lores we used to listen to as children. Americans have so masterfully changed the meaning of religion for us Muslims. Now even we ourselves think of religion as something negative. We talk about our Mullahs, Molvies and students of Islamic Religion as someone disgustful. Our youth is now busy partying all night and making plans of increasing wealth all day. Money, women and party are the only faith that we are left with. When I say women, its not the wife, we are not even faithful to her anymore.
Conspiracy is something done in secret, all we have are a bunch of blood suckers eating our whole country inside out. And the best is that we are ready to accept them and are willing to go with the flow. One sentence that I hate the most is that GO FOR A LESSER EVIL. Why, why should I just not shoot them all their heads and go for something new.
