Future of Business with IT Applications

The history of Pakistan
has positively changed in the past few years with the arrival of latest IT
services. The IT has not only enhanced our lifestyles and sources of
communications but also it has sophisticatedly improved our business networking
and relationship with the customers. The businesses have grown enormously and
the management has become even easier with high-speed broadband services. The
telecom services take communication on a far broader level with the addition of
latest services and high-speed internet.

The banking sector has also deployed several IT services for
development and enhancement of its infrastructure. The convergence of IT and
Telecom has benefited banks with e-banking and m-banking services. But all
these technologies need further developments for the future.

In Pakistan,
the IT applications are not deployed in all of the companies that are working
here. Majority of the business companies have an idea of what the deployment of
an IT application does, and the fact that it is really expensive. However, they
tend to ignore the positive prospects, which are the outcome of the IT
applications.

There are certain critical services that can change the
whole scenario of a particular company. These services include Customer
Relationship Management, Data Management, Network and Security, Infrastructure,
Integrated systems and Messaging and Collaboration within a specific network. Pakistan
actually has several companies that deploy such solutions and as time goes by,
more and more companies are realizing that customers don’t want to shop around
for different vendors for the various components that go into creating an
infrastructure. Take Infotech as an example. In a way, it is a relief for the
companies to get the “one stop shop” treatment from one company rather than a
whole bunch of them.

“That’s something we figured out a while back” comments
Naseer Akhtar, President and CEO of Infotech. “That’s a critical mindset that
will help to change the level and size of projects that Pakistan
is able to get. If the size of the company is small, there is no reason why
more than one company cannot create come together to pitch for a project.”

The Customer Relationship Management CRS is a vital element
in expanding the businesses in the global market. For advanced marketing,
companies needs to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and the needs
of the day. Every latest system you will ever buy will inadvertently be replaced
with something even better within a short span of time.

The purpose of IT application is to save our time and money
and work efficiently. The users always expect a good deal from the company they
are working with and breaking their expectations means that the company is no
longer going to be working with that particular client. The market is diverse
and the clients have a lot of options, forbid them to compromise. In order to
attract an international clientele, companies need to equip themselves with the
latest IT solutions to work more efficiently.

“Customer Relationship Management, for example, includes a sever
system that help in managing all the information about each and every client.
Imagine if you got to know the historical details of a caller, when he last
called you, what the complaint was, when it was followed up and if there was a
support ticket opened, what the status of it is, all before you ever picked up
the phone!” says Naseer.

Technology applications such as CRM simply help to deal with
the customer, saving time and increasing efficiency. Integrating systems is necessary
for the management of information and the service-oriented business.

Infrastructure is the most important issue on which the
whole system is based. The infrastructure determines the output capabilities of
a company. A better and automated infrastructure will definitely yield greater results.
Moreover, the network within a company plays the key role in processing several
tasks.

However, majority of Pakistan
lacks latest technologies but we can notice the remarkable performance of a few
companies and banks who have adopted the straight path. With less than 50%
dealing in IT-enabled services, these companies can help local companies
increase their sales and efficiency by more than 50%, making a greater
contribution to the annual revenue of the country. “Just imagine if there were
more companies like ours around!” comments Naseer.
