FINALLY "THE LION " COMPROMISED

FINALLY "THE LION " COMPROMISED

NA approved finance bill2008 which has an article for 29 judges...This article was introduced by PPP to facilitate the PCO judges..it is unfortunate that PML(N) has accpted this change..It is not a fiscal change but also a change in principles. I was fedup of PML N statements that they will get the judges restored and they will not accept PCO judges and for the restoration of actual judges they will quit NA if needed. Mian She-Baz said that they can quit Punjab assembly even.

ALAS : their principle stand did last for a small time and they compromised..

Now PPP got the PCO judges facilitated and they will share the powers of CJ iftikhar(if rerstored) with PCO judges thus CJ will not be able to take any Soumoto notice without concent of them. neither Zardari will have any fear of CJ nor Mian brothers.

It is a long history of Pakistan muslim league that they supported every extra-constitutional step. In Ayub khan regeim they were with name of Convention league, in Zia regeim they were PML , in Musharaf regeim they were PML Q and now in zardari regeim they are PML N.

It proved that " politics have no principles and no word is the last word"

Not even for a single second I was under any delusion that this is anything other then a political gimmick. Poor lawyers over committing themselves to these phony baloney politicians and that crook Ifftikhar Chawdhary. Let’s see how they manage face saving now.

oh the slim hope i had retained for so long, evaporated....why did they acted strong n principled when they were as weak as the rest of them???what purpose that facade served??????.....their abba gee left them alone too soon, they still need him..(abba jeeeeeeeeeeee hunnn kee kariyyyaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh).....

i have forgotten the name of journalist who called nawaz sharif the most shallow prime minister he/she had ever met, but i couldn't agree more...

Pinki: I thought may be they have learnt somthing in previous sufferings.

now aitezaz shoudl also decide on which side he is..

I wonder why we treat Politicians (& also Iftikhar Chawdhry in this case) as Leaders when they are two totally opposite creatures. Politicians strive for power, while the leaders suffer so a common man and women can thrive. The methods at times may look similar but the goals are totally different. Treat them as what they are and you will not be disappointed.

For leadership look at people like Edhi, Mother Teresa, Jinnah or Gandhi and not towards mere politicians or a Bureaucrat (in this specific case)

Why do they have a stuffed lion in the picture?

You are right about Mr Jinnah and Gandhi but Mother trese and Eidhi donot fall in leadership category according to traits..

mianjee there is a relatively new concept of ''servant leadership"....both of these qualify as leader in that context....instead of charisma such leaders rely on servicehood itself to influence ppl....

I agree to both of you. In conventional sense only Jinnah and Gandhi are leaders but if we can classify leadership in categories and also including Pinky's definition. I like to see it as follow:
Jinnah - Political leader
Gandhi - Political and Social/humanitarian leader
Mother Terrisa - Spiritual leader
Ehdi - Social/humanitarian leader
We should be proud of our region which has given the world so many great leaders.

First, all of you condemn Nawaz and Co for using SC issue to their own benefit and now you condemn them for succumbing to public pressure?

It is YOU the citizens of Pakistan who are responsible for this disastrous compromise

To quote a few lines that I recall right here on Buzzvines from some 'highly informed' informants:

"The CJ restoration will not feed the poor"

"CJ issue is irrelevant"

" The nation needs to move on"

"Only a few thousand people showed up so this tells us that public does not support restoration of CJ"

PML -N was really stuck between a rock and a hard place; quit the coalition and provide the army with an excuse to intervene yet again or succumb to public pressure and give up restoration of CJ and Co alltogether. Infirmness borne of fear prevailed and a compromise was found albeit an unnecessary and far too hasty compromise

PML should have stuck to their guns and should have gone for broke. The popular public sentiment as usual turned out to be as ill educated as the public itself.

This was the final proverbial nail in the coffin and all that remains is the epitaph which I will be all too happy to provide.

In Khalifah’s grammar PML-N and the word "Wrong" does not go together. Khalifah your above argument is another proof of your biasness.
I envy your loyalty but unfortunately that makes your arguments weak at times.

Khalifah:

A few people gone against that movement as you narrated above...But what about those who were strong supporters of it....and what about thsoe who given vote to PML N in the name of judiciary restoration?

Neither President can use 58/2b because army is not on his back now, nor Army was goign to interveine as Kiyani is not in its favor...This pressure came from some where else...The invisible power who saved Nawaz when musharaf was goign to make him Bhutto...That hand smartly saved him and re-introduced him when there was a vaccume of leadership in the country and real leadership could have come ahead...

Why Nawaz chosed the way of pricinples?  stupids(khawaja asif who is brother in law of Mr Farook H Naik, and Ch. Nisar ali khan whose elder brother iftikhar was defence sec. of the musharaf regeim) played their role and game is again in the hands of establishment...All the sacrifices of lawyers and civilions gone to hell...

Dont be biased and accept that here nawaz can have the principle stand...This is a political mistake which will make nawaz league same as nowadays Q league is..

Mother tereasa and Gandhi ? Our leaders BabarZM talk about living leaders they are our leaders why should we look at them  and they are not muslim leaders.

I feel very sorry for you Tiamur77. Unfortunately you missed the part where
Islam told Muslims to go to China
to learn knowledge. Last time I checked, Chinese were mostly non-Muslims.

I can’t wait for Gandhi and Mother Terisa to turn Muslims before I can start
learning something from them. May be you should advice Pakistani cricket team to wait for
Jeff Lawson to turn Muslim before they can start learning some cricket from him.

lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Babar...you explained very well.....I think Taimur was refering towards teh chriteria of AMEER UL MUSLIMEEN..That is really a tructh but it implies on muslims only..

Taimur: we cant deny the greatness of these leaders wither they are muslim or non-muslim..Here we are not talkign about AMEER which is strictly for muslim head of group or state...Gandhi was a leader as Ulma like Abu-alkalam azad etc followed him.As NAJASHI was not muslim but he was very much respected by PBUH...
