End of emergency in Pakistan ;Is this a ray of hope or another era of darkness

President General Pervez Musharraf on Saturday issued a presidential order to left the emergency and to restore the constitution.

President Pervez Musharraf introduced six more amendments in the Constitution. But here i divided these for more elaboration.

Those are:

**-In office (currently serving) President can be re-elected for a fresh term of five years.

**-The judges who had not taken oath under PCO, 2007, cannot work now with effect from Nov 3 and the judges who had taken oath under the order shall continue. The judges who had not taken the oath, they are not eligible to regain the charge of their offices.

**-The clause added by Zia-ul-Haq has been removed.

**-Now there will be a new high court for Capital City Islamabad.

**-Now governor consultation is not required for the appointment of judges for the Islamabad High Court.

**-The president shall administer oath to the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court.
[After the Islamabad High Court starts functioning, all cases relating to the Capital Territory pending in the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court shall stand transferred to Islamabad High Court.]

**-Now minimum age to qualify for High Court Judge is 40 years. Constitution has been amended from 45 years to 40.[It has been amended due to lack of judges in bar. Govt. had already fired 50 judges.].

**-Judges who had not taken the oath under PCO, they can enjoy pension and other retirement benefits.

**-The district and sessions judges appointed as judges of high courts who had not taken the oath under PCO, they cannot enjoy these pension and retirement benefits but they can get Superannuation.(The savings which have been accumulated over time by an individual which is used to fund their retirement).

**-Is there any ray of hope for common people OR we are moving towards Dark Age?

**-Is there any hope for justice and peace in country?

**-Is this constitution helpful for a common man?

**-Can this constitution provide basic rights to people of Pakistan?

**-Can we feel safe now?

**-Can this constitution help us to find the lost people arrested by agencies?

**-What about the judges who were implementing the rule of law in Pakistan?

**-Who is going to get the benefits from all these events happening in Pakistan? You? Me? We all? if not then who?

Think.... before it is too late.

Well, interesting points Mr.Noor Muhammad .

  • We are moving towards a dark age but there is a ray of hope in that dark age that we can unite and guide the country to the path of democracy, rule of law and eliminate all the darkness.Lifting emergency will not benefit any one accept the government and those who support them because it does matter to ordinary citizen of the country and he is after his basic neccessities which are hard to get the price of bread is now Rs.4/=.
  • Yes there is hope we hope that peace and justice will be in Pakistan so far there are no signs but we must not lose the hopes.and we hope there will be.Is there any other option we have other then hoping.
  • Common man and constitution OO come on man .Comman man doesn't understand constitution and wouldn't be even able to define it.Look at the prices of daily used items.Look at the employment rate its increasing everyone would agree.I guess.
  • Well basic right yes may be to some but not all people of Pakistan and alot of people may feel neglected by the policies of governement.
  • Yes,we can feel safe when we can defend our ownselves.every person should think of defending himself and forget the others.
  • Lost people no chance that sounds like a joke.impossible it can not.
  • They should be restored and many people think its was injustice to all those judges who didn't take oath under PCO but they will not be restored and nothing can said about them. All we can say is that atleast there were few jusges who tried there best to implement the rule of law in Pakistan.
  • Well, some of the Pakistanis will be beneficaries but may not benefit an ordinary poor man living in the country as crisis don't soves there problems.
