Emperor Strikes Back
In an interview to the press, President Musharaf has hit back by saying that "I will not step down". This reminds one of the last interview by General Yahya Khan just before the fall of Dhaka.
He looked confident as ever and had assured the nation that everything is in control under his able Presidency. But his fall from grace came immediately thereafter. As a rule, the candle flame burns the brightest just before getting extinguished.

I give Musharraf credit for a lot of good things, including kicking Nawaz on his back side. So I support a safe exit for Musharraf.

Unfortunately quite a few Pakistani's share your love for the army which is why it keeps itself firmly in control of the country. Maybe its time we tried not just the army for treason but its supporters as well
hi khalifa u don’t happen to have an inferiority complex, now do u?. Stop being obsessed with army and try to broaden your vision. Seems like u applied for army but got rejected and now taking it out on it. Not that it matters to army.
It's not army which intervene rather it has always been politicians inviting them. U do remember an entire nation distributing sweats around when musharaf came, right? know why... because they were sick of his atrocities and dictator's attitude to an extent that they actually welcomed a dictator. Seriously u actually support nawaz sharif who himself was made by army. U know what happens when u go against your creator.
Safe exit as in 'Not Hanged' - Yes. He should be made accouuntable for what he did. And yes Babar so should others be. A precedent has to be set.
