Right now, in Pakistan, atmosphere is buzzing with the elections. This buzz is very confusing as half are proposing boycott, and the other half are dead against it. There are also questions marks hanging over the viability and legitimacy of election under the controversial care taker government and dubious election commission and above all under a former commando president.
We need to analyze the news, views, and reviews related to Upcoming Election 2008 in Pakistan and we need to do it earnestly and dutifully. Without any doubt the future of country hinges on this critical jucture of our history.

Amna if we are talking about integrity, then we should all bycott elections and raise our voices against the injustices. Else there is a life of compromises and humiliation. The choice is ours.

Yup amna. One person can make a difference. Remember Mother Terresa, Gandhi and a person standing in front of the tank in russia. History is full of people who stood for integrity and fought the battle alone. Let there be no compromise on integrity. Do the right thing. There is no way out for this nation if it has to survive. Else we are doomed.

Exactly, all should have been boycotted the election. If we give in so easily to the wishes of the General, we would keep repeating the history that has not been much appreciating. If we are OK with what has been happening in Pakistan and are willing to undrgo the same misery for the rest of our lives, we're doing the right thing by opting for elections. But if we want a change and are fedup of this power shift between these hyenas sucking every single drop of our blood, then now is the time to tell them that We Have Had Enough.
Common people want to boycott election while the politicians are going for it ? what does this all mean ?
Benazir says that taking part in these elections is a step forward towards real democracy, and we cant have pure democracy in a jiffy. Perhaps this is a last chance for her to get Kursi.
Fazlur Rehman says that boycotting the election is analogous to treason. What can anyone say to that?
They both are also not concerned with the judiciary and media. I dont know why ANP is not boycotting the electoins, perhaps they are watching the clear ground in NWFP after the plummetted popularity of MMA there.
APDM is coming out more hard on this issue, and I am still perplexed about the silent majority over this issue.
I would again say that (and its not marketing, for God's sake) that Chowrangi.com is really hammering this issue where it really gets started speaking.

So why don't we start hammering it here also. Let the members here say what they have to about this issue and see what we've got within our minds and hearts in favour or against this event.
1. If Benazir Supports Independence of Judiciary, her corruption cases will be back again. So she is playing to her tune orchestrated by USA.
3. Maulana Fazlur Rahman (He is called Maulana Diesel) has always sided with the dictatorship because of his "video clips" available showing him in the company of women (everyone mentions that privately). The moment he is out of tune, he is reminded of that.
4. Nawaz Sharif is caught in a bad situation. He looses both ways.
Having said that, Imran Khan has done exactly what every other politician should have done.

One more thing, one cannot ignore the earnest and brave approach of Imran Khan. If he only gets rid of his narcissit personality, he will go very far.
Pakistan needs two things very badly right now:
1- A Leader
2- Fresh talent for Cricket team

You are saying the same thing, which I said. I used 'leader' as a comprehensive thing. A leader means a 'true leader' having all the leadershiip and noble qualities.

Amna the best thing about history is that it is witness to the birth of great leaders from no-where; in the most desperate situations. In 1971, Mr Z.A. Bhutto was a non entity but brought about a change (by the way I am not for Benazir who has destroyed PPP).
A leader will surely rise, sooner than we think though.

You all of think well about our country but politician think is opposite it, Because all politician are businessman they investment in this Election 2008 then they will get all their investment money from peoples by taxes and other ways. They are concerned of our country. We should hang all politician.

Talking of leadership, democracy, and elections is such a waste of time. First, we need to decide whether we are a nation or a country where different nations live through force of military. Baluchis, Sindhis, Pakhtoons, and Muhajirs are not comfortable living within the current boundries of Pakistan. This even a blind can see. Therfore, we have to bring the small nationalities into the pakistan tent. The rest in my opinion is bs and it has done for the last 60 years. Therefore, if we are serious about Pakistan, the problem of provincial autonomy, and rights of all nations should be granted immediately.

Umm lets wait for the elections 2008 and see the results.Some parties in country do not want to contest elections 2008 under Pervez Musharaaf and some think that the elections can't be free and fair.What can we hope for . what do we want in this country and how we want our country and institutions function.Do we want to reduce or eliminate corruption from the country.
Assalam-u-alaikum i start my view at that point why it is necessary to held election. because it is neceesary for the process of democracy of pakistan. but in pakistan there is no real democracy. its the mixture of fudalisms, beurocrates, peers and obvious army. in pakistan there is one man show. so in my opinion all parties should boycott and combine one point that is free, fair and transparent elections.

Dears Readers,
please try to understand the sitiuation of pakistan. we need to stop balmming others. what did I do for my beloved country? Need to think over this question. just for one minute look into your soul and Analyses your habits and nature just one minute how sincere you are with the country and other. Leave others and country just be sincere with yourself in possitive manners. nobody can change others but can change him/herself.
RESULT
I would like to Vote for ANP but I very sad to see you have totally ignore the ANP in the Voting list. The ANP is also a National level party and has smart vote bank.
The result sheet of election 2008 will help to evaluate the ANP vote bank and seats on National and Provincial Base.
