The earthquake

Another year has passed since that devastating day (8:50 AM, Oct 8, 2005) when an earthquake brought havoc in the lives of many and changed their destinies forever. Isn’t it an irony that till date not even a single person has been caught who was responsible for the collapse of the Margalla Towers. The residents of the towers who lost their dear ones are still running from pillar to post asking for justice with no hope in sight. The loot and plunder of the money given by the donors for the rehabilitation of the earthquake victims also shows another face of our society where the mighty are looking at every available opportunity to earn money out of other people’s miseries. The earthquake might have brought good “business opportunities” for few but it has surely added to the misfortunes of the poor.
