The 500 feet tall port water jet fountain built by Karachi Port Trust (KPT) costing Rs 320 million out of public funds has been stolen.
The ousted dictator, General Pervez Musharraf (R), had secretly allocated 1,200 kanals of military land in DI Khan to the relatives and close associates of his opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman and his Chief Minister in NWFP, Akram Khan Durrani of the JUI in 2004 in order to get their support for not opposing the uniform issue and ensuring a friendly opposition.
Where has the “Great Pisser” vanished when we needed it’s services the most.

hmm. The fountain may be original... I have my doubts about Moon. Full Moon.. in west.
what KPT has to do with public funds? Karachi Port Trust as far as i remember earn its own revenue and neither yours nor mine taxes are allocated to kpt.apart from that..there wasnt any need for it ...in very less amount they could install a messaging system that inform sea ships through sms that you are now entering into karachi...or for our fishermen to inform them through voice message about depth and behavior of the sea for a particular day...u know something useful. when companies can distribute free cooking oil and other grocery items for just a sms (www.lucky32532.com) then why cant kpt attach some cause to their promotion?i am a frustrate karachiite but still hopeful.
They could have built an opera house like the one in Sydney, in hope someday tourist (and not terrorists) will take over Karachi.
