Those managing our electronic media need to look into the unacceptably large number of inept people in positions that require expertise, knowledge, integrity and care. As a result, the quality of news and analysis is compromised, and harms the reputation not just of these channels but also of the electronic media in Pakistan.

Many channels have anchors who, despite no understanding of the matter under discussion, are moderating debates of supposedly high importance. One will hardly find an anchor at respected Western TV channels who is not well-versed in global affairs. There is a real need for our channels to tighten their selection and production process.
