CEO's of Warid & Ufone Resigned
submitted 1 year 7 months 14 hours ago by: albatros : 2 commentsCEO of Ufone, Mubashar Naqvi & the CEO of Warid Tel, Mr. Hamid Farooq have resigend from there positions, as the news spreads around the booming telecom bubble, there is a wide spread of disbeleaf and mis-understanding as to whats going on. Recenty our Chief of Army Staff Resigned from his position and now we just lost two CEO's of top notch telecom companies.
Warid in the previous years also sold its 30% shared to Singtel which raised the concerns at the telecom industry. In Pakistan out of 160 million people 50 Million users are subscribers of Cell phone.
There has been a tremendious growth in telecom sector in the last 10 years with addition of 5-10 telecom companies investing in Pakistan also the privitization of PTCL which is still not going smooth due to lack of strong management and control over the company.
With these resignation comming there is also speculation that there is lack of good executives as previously Ward lost its CEO within one year of its launch though Mobilink on the other hand has been going smooth with the leadership of Zohair A Khaliq, the CEO & co-Founder of Mobilink Pakistan.

Let's see for how long does Zohair A Khaliq hold his grounds at Mobilink. May be he has not been offered the right price as yet, other than that, there is no reason for him to stick around.
Everything has its price, you just have to know what it is.
For Warid things are worst, the acting CEO (Who was CFO) has also resigned and went to ufone to fill the empty CEO position. Warid CIO has left along with him 7 other people (some senior managers) have also left company.
Warid has always been a ticking time bomb employer. Wateen on other hand has far less employee and strong/dictative leadership hence the two companies have a different working enviroment.
